Who needs to take the UKVI A1 Test?
UKVI A1 Test is designed to determine if the applicant meets the UKVI language proficiency standard. For applicants who wish to apply for further leave to remain (1. Family life as a partner of a settled person; 2. Family life as a parent) in the UK, the standard is CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) A1.
Who needs to take the UKVI A2 Test?
UKVI A1 Test is designed to determine if the applicant meets the UKVI language proficiency standard. For applicants who applied for family route leave to remain after 2.5 years in the UK, the standard is CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) A2.
What happens during the test?
The test lasts 6(A1)/ 7(A2) minutes.

How long will I need to prepare for it?
The recommended length of time to prepare for UKVI B1 test is two to three months.
